Dr. Yuliya Filippovska Group Facilitation Process Work

Group Facilitation and Conflict Resolution

Facilitate group interaction, both offline and online, to streamline and enhance community and team building processes, relationships and intercultural communication, multistakeholder dialogue, strategy development, and implementation.

Work on tensions and conflicts emerging from collaboration and partnership—to bring more cohesion and unity, hence more energy, effectiveness, and productivity to your group, community, team, organization, or company.

I can add value if you face and need support in the following:

  • conflicts on a leadership level and beyond, that cannot be solved
  • cultural diversity and misunderstanding in a team or community
  • collaboration, partnerships, and communication issues
  • multistakeholder dialogue complications, including rank differences
  • open forums and public discussions, online or offline, open to diversity
  • strategy development and implementation processes stalemate
  • conflict resolution skills for your community, team, and organization

How It WoRKS

  • To start, we arrange a first work meeting for 30 to 60 minutes (free) to discuss an issue at hand and your wishes and vision.
  • By the end of this meeting, I can tell you if I can be helpful or not. If yes, I can suggest steps. Note: some leaders come to me with team issues, but we do one or more coaching sessions. In some cases, though, group or team facilitation, conflict resolution, or even skill-building is important. I learn, practice, research and teach the Deep Democracy or ProcessWork approach*.
  • If I see that I cannot do the job for certain reasons, I can suggest some of my colleagues.
  • If I can contribute and add value to the issue, I can suggest a plan and, if needed, potential partner facilitators.
  • Depending on the job description from our first meeting, I work on some projects in partnership with top-notch facilitators from the Deep Democracy Alliance** who come from different countries, cultures, and professional backgrounds. These facilitators are also good friends of mine, with whom we have ongoing relationships and conflict work, so one can benefit from our teamwork and diversity of styles.

ProcessWork and deep democracy

* ProcessWork (PW), known as Deep Democracy (DD), is an awareness-based paradigm developed by the physicist and Jungian psychologist Arnold Mindell (https://www.aamindell.net/) in the 1980s. It has been successfully applied for individual, relationship, group facilitation, and conflict resolution in local communities and for international leaders. Unlike other group work paradigms, ProcessWork brings awareness around majority and minority voices, with its basic assumption that majority and minority positions together define a given group.

Thus, awareness-based PW facilitation allows one to notice, frame, recognize, voice, and integrate all the many voices, including contradictory or marginal ones, in a given field—for communication between different sides to flow and for a group's wisdom to manifest itself and bring unexpected solutions or perspectives.

Deep Democracy Alliance

** Deep Democracy Alliance (DDA) is an international group of professional and seasoned facilitators who are ProcessWork diplomats of the Deep Democracy Institute International (DDII), coming from different continents, cultures, and backgrounds, both from the Global South and the Global North. They learn and practice the Deep Democracy and ProcessWork approach in their daily life and work.
